Courtyard by Marriott Brand to Debut in Okinawa, Offering Beachfront Hospitality Amidst Natural Beauty

Tokyo, Japan – July 15, 2025 – Marriott International, Inc. today announced plans to launch Courtyard by Marriott Okinawa Resort, marking the brand’s official debut on the idyllic island of Okinawa. This new opening will further strengthen Marriott’s footprint in one of Japan’s most sought-after leisure destinations.

The upcoming resort will be developed through a comprehensive renovation and rebranding of the existing Kanehide Kise Beach Palace, which is set to temporarily close on October 4, 2025. Following its transformation, the reimagined property is expected to welcome guests in Summer 2026.

Nestled along the pristine white sands of Kise Beach in northern Okinawa, the resort will offer panoramic views of Nago Bay and the surrounding mountain landscape. Guests will be well-positioned to explore local attractions such as the Busena Marine Park Underwater Observatory and the Kanehide Kise Country Club. The resort is conveniently located about one hour by car from Naha International Airport, ensuring easy access for both domestic and international travelers.

Courtyard by Marriott Okinawa Resort will feature over 160 guest rooms with private balconies, including spacious family rooms and suites offering either ocean or mountain views. Designed by acclaimed Japanese interior design firm Kume Sekkei, the interiors will reflect Courtyard’s modern, functional design ethos—balancing comfort and style for today’s business and leisure travelers.

On-property amenities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a lively Lobby Bar, and the Fitness Center. 

Ideal for meetings and events, the resort will also offer a 210-square-meter function space filled with natural light, perfect for intimate gatherings, corporate retreats, and social celebrations.

This new addition highlights Marriott International’s ongoing commitment to expanding its portfolio in Japan and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences across the Asia Pacific region.
